| | Hello there. Track with Shop just learned Japanese, one Danish store has 90 refunds stuck in limbo, and a rental shop on Basic wants to hold deposits for a month. Grab a coffee, today is about the money that does not move when it should. In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into: - Track with Shop now prompts buyers with addresses in Japan and Singapore, and the Shop app is available in Japanese.
- A Denmark-based store says about 90 refunds are stuck pending because Shopify Payments still draws them from DKK after a switch to GBP payouts.
- Merchants traded fixes for rental deposits on the Basic plan, prices that vanish on collection pages and UK shipping costs on product pages.

| | 🇬🇧 Should UK stores show shipping on the product page? A UK shopper argues that every UK Shopify store hiding postage until an address is entered breaks the rule that the first price you see is the price you pay. Merchants pushed back: the guidance allows a note that extra charges may apply when shipping cannot be worked out in advance, which is what Shopify's default line does. The UK shipping cost debate is worth a look if you charge flat rates. 🧶 Ruggable rebuilt its product from Reddit complaints. On Shopify Masters, Ruggable's Chief Commercial Officer Sarah Kleinman explains how the brand restarted stalled growth by reading years of customer complaints on Reddit. Shoppers hated the two-piece rug system, so Ruggable launched a one-piece rug that made up more than 70% of revenue within eight weeks, then went back to old commenters to show what changed. The Ruggable episode also covers why design decides conversion. | |

| | 💸 Refunds stuck after a payout currency switch. A Denmark-based store selling in GBP changed its Shopify Payments payout currency from DKK to GBP in August, and refunds have failed ever since. About 90 orders are now waiting, with support blaming an empty DKK balance despite roughly £55,000 in GBP. If you sell in another currency and plan a similar change, read the stuck refunds thread first and ask how refunds will be funded. 🔑 Taking rental deposits on the Basic plan. A rental business wants refundable deposits for hires that last more than a month, but a manual capture hold expires after 7 days. Replies suggest a deposit app, or a refundable deposit product bundled with each rental using the free Shopify Bundles app, then a partial refund once the item comes back in good shape. The rental deposit thread lists the apps people named. | |

| | 🏷️ Prices vanished from collection pages. An Atlantic theme store could see prices on product pages and at checkout, but not on collection pages or in the bag. The fix was not in the theme at all: under Settings, General, Change currency formatting, both HTML boxes had the price wrapped in a hidden span. Deleting that tag brought prices back, as the missing prices fix shows step by step. 📦 Selling by the dozen or the case. One merchant handles pack sizes with a Quantity variant offering Single, Dozen and Case, but some products are only sold by the dozen or the case. They are asking whether an app handles pack quantities and pricing better than variants. If you sell wholesale-style packs, share your pack setup with them. 🧩 How do you pick your next app? When returns, shipping or something else in the shop starts to bug you, what comes first: the App Store search, a forum, Google or a friend? One member wants to know, and also what tipped the choice between apps, from reviews to price. Add your answer in the app discovery thread. | |

| | 🚚 Track with Shop reaches Japan and Singapore. Buyers with a shipping address in Japan or Singapore now see a Track with Shop button on the thank you page, order status page and order emails, as long as your store is eligible and has the feature on. The Shop app and Shop.com are also available in Japanese now. The Track with Shop update links to the delivery tracking setup. 🤖 Which AI assistant should run your store? A new Learn with Shopify video walks through the Shopify connectors for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot Cowork, Meta Muse and Perplexity. It covers the setup they share, which ones can build a store from scratch versus work with an existing one, and two questions to narrow the choice. The connectors explainer runs about eight minutes. | |
