The Shopifist

Hello there. Shopify now lets you pick, label and pack orders in batches, Dutch and Polish shops can buy discounted DHL labels right in the admin, and AI agents that check out on your store can now pass along a buyer's privacy and marketing choices. A handy Saturday to tidy up fulfillment.

In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into:

  • Batch fulfillment groups up to 250 fulfillments into one pick, print and pack workflow you can customize per step.
  • Merchants shipping from the Netherlands or Poland can buy discounted DHL eCommerce labels on Shopify with no extra fee.
  • Checkout MCP and Cart MCP now carry buyer consent choices, like email or SMS opt-in, from AI agents to your store.

SHIPPED

📦 Fulfill orders in batches of up to 250. Shopify can now group fulfillments into batches by product type, shipping destination or similar rules. The default flow has three steps: print one pick list, buy and print every label, packing slip and customs form at once, then scan items to pack, with a tone and checkmark for each correct item. You can rename steps, reorder them and assign a staff member to each. Start from Orders, then Create batch.

🏷️ DHL labels arrive for shops in the Netherlands and Poland. If you ship from the Netherlands or Poland, you can now buy DHL eCommerce labels on Shopify at discounted rates with no fee on top of your plan. Dutch shops can send domestic orders via DHL service points or lockers, while Polish shops can ship to other EU countries via DHL lockers. Tracking is added to the order and sent to the customer, and the order is marked fulfilled.

🤖 AI agent checkouts can now carry buyer consent. Checkout MCP and Cart MCP now support the UCP buyer consent extension from UCP 2026-08-25. Agents can show a shopper your store's own consent options, such as email or SMS opt-in, and the choices arrive with the cart, checkout and order. If an agent sends nothing, Shopify applies your default for the buyer's country, and an unknown country means opt-out. Worth a look if agentic sales are part of your plans.

SELL & CONVERT

🧭 AI agents can check out, but cannot answer shipping questions. A test of 122 Shopify stores, summarized by Shopifreaks, found agents could open a checkout on every one, yet none met all nine criteria for finishing a buying decision. The policy tool found return windows for 70 of 88 stores but never gave shipping cost or delivery timing, and only two said whether orders can be canceled. Clear, plainly titled policy pages look more important than ever.

📊 When does an early conversion rate mean anything? A new store owner with 110 sessions, 17 add to carts and 7 valid orders so far in October asked when the numbers become reliable. The most useful reply: there is no magic threshold. Watch the trend week by week alongside average order value, returning customer rate and traffic quality, because a good rate at 1,000 sessions looks very different at 100,000.

🚀 From a fast launch to the next level. A founder who reached $16k in sales on a $100 product in under two weeks, helped by an influencer partner, asked how bigger stores kept growing once the buzz faded. Replies point to a focused niche over selling to everyone, local sourcing, SEO, A/B testing and a wider catalog or paid services. Worth noting: the store has not sent a single marketing email, which is an easy next step.

MONEY & OPS

🚩 Cancel a high-risk order when the CVV and address match? A used auto parts seller got a $600 headlight order flagged as high risk for a web proxy and an IP address far from the shipping address, even though the CVV, billing address and ZIP all matched. Replies split: some always cancel high-risk orders, while others say proxy flags fire on VPNs and mobile networks and a quick message to the buyer beats a reflex refund.

💳 Payouts not arriving after the all-clear email. A merchant says payouts have stalled even though orders were paid and Shopify emailed that daily payouts were set up. No answers yet, but if you see the same gap, check your payout schedule and any account holds before the weekend.

STORE & TOOLS

🖥️ POS 11.15 and 11.16 bring local delivery and stock counts. Shopify's September Retail Roundup covers POS 11.15 and 11.16. Staff can now create local delivery orders right in POS (POS Pro, set up under Settings, Checkout, Local delivery), complete scheduled stock counts created in admin, filter search by resource and need approval to set up a new device. Version 11.15 keeps the cart in view on mobile. Test new releases on a few devices first.

😤 Retailers push back on the latest POS update. One shop owner vented about the newest POS build: the last two variant options are hard to reach and the app now jumps to the cart after each add, so tapping twice for two of the same item no longer works. Others add complaints about field placement for staff using large fonts. If your counter staff rely on quick taps, test the update before a busy day.

🔑 Replying to App Store reviews still needs full admin. An app maker asked Shopify for a separate review reply permission. Today only Organization Admin can answer App Store reviews, and Partner Support confirmed that is by design, so support and success staff need full control of the partner account just to reply. If you build apps, add your vote to the request.
