The theme is the Shopify network: seven new local payment methods, AI agents that can check out with Shop Pay, a marketing autopilot for every merchant and a redesigned admin. We picked the changes you can actually use before Black Friday. - Campaign Autopilot is now open to all merchants: set a budget and guardrails and it runs campaigns across Meta, Microsoft, Snapchat, Shop and Shopify Messaging.
- Shop.md turns ChatGPT, Claude and other AI agents into personal shoppers that search over a billion products and check out with Shop Pay.

| | 🚀 The Fall '26 Edition is out. Shopify's twice-yearly release landed on Wednesday under the name Exponential, built around the idea that every merchant benefits from the whole Shopify network. Highlights include new local payment methods, wider in-store customer recognition, a bigger Shop Promise program, Shop Pay inside AI agents and a restyled admin. The merchant highlights post is the quickest way through it. 🤖 Campaign Autopilot is now open to every merchant. Set a budget and guardrails, and Campaign Autopilot studies your store, products and customers, then builds campaigns across Meta Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Snapchat, Shop and Shopify Messaging, with X Ads coming. It picks channels, splits spend and moves budget toward what works. It also suggests SEO fixes for you to approve. Find Autopilot in the Growth tab of your admin. 🎨 A new-look admin and a rebuilt Sidekick. The Shopify admin is getting new colors, type, spacing and icons, a collapsible side navigation, and Sidekick as a floating chat on every page. The rebuilt Sidekick can run calculations, write code, search the web and remember what you teach it, with your approval on changes. Canvas, for editing your whole store with Sidekick, is in early access per the Edition highlights. | |

| | 💳 Seven new local payment methods. Shopify Payments now supports Alipay, WeChat Pay, MB WAY, OXXO, Satispay, Scalapay and GrabPay. All work in online checkout, and most also work with Shop Pay, the Shop app and Shopify POS. If you sell into Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Southeast Asia or to Chinese shoppers, check the new local methods and switch on the ones your buyers use. 🛍️ AI agents can now shop your store. Shop.md is a shopping skill that buyers can point ChatGPT, Claude or another agent at to search over a billion products, check out with Shop Pay and track orders. Shop Pay is also arriving inside personal agents such as Muse from Meta, and the Shop app adds Universal Checkout for carts from several merchants. ShopifyDevs posted a short video on the agentic updates. 💬 WhatsApp marketing automations in Shopify Messaging. Shopify Messaging can now send well-timed WhatsApp messages automatically. Pre-built templates cover abandoned browse, abandoned cart and abandoned checkout, and you can also add WhatsApp steps to your own automations. With Black Friday a month away, set up WhatsApp automations under Messaging, then Automations, and test the cart recovery flow first. ✅ Shop Promise badges reach far more US stores. Shop Promise, the free program that shows delivery and returns badges on product pages, checkout and the Shop app, has grown merchant eligibility 20x. Badged products can rank higher in Shop search and in the Shopify Catalog data that shopping agents use. If you ship from the US, see what the Edition says about Shop Promise and check whether you now qualify. 🔄 Your Shop store can now copy your homepage. For select merchants, supported content from your online store homepage, such as images, videos, featured collections and product rows, now syncs to your Shop store automatically. Product pages, About pages and FAQs do not sync, and your theme and SEO stay unchanged. Turning sync off lets you edit Shop by hand. Read how Shop store sync works before your next launch. 🧪 SimGym tests whole shopping journeys. SimGym, which sends AI shoppers through your store, can now test full shopping journeys, product discovery and add-to-cart confidence, not just theme comparisons. Recommendations come with numbered markers on the page, and each links to a summary and playback video of the AI shopper's visit. Run a SimGym journey test on your best seller before the holiday rush. | |

| | 🧾 POS can now recognize more in-store shoppers. Shopify POS now recognizes eligible shoppers who have checked out at any store using Shopify Payments. When they pick a digital receipt and agree to share their details, the purchase is saved to a customer profile without staff asking for an email. Shopify says known in-store customers have over 60% higher lifetime value. Update to POS v11.17 and enable Network Intelligence. 🛡️ Write your own fraud rules in Shopify Protect. Shopify Protect now bundles risk and dispute tools in the admin to stop fraud at checkout and fight chargebacks automatically. A Rule Builder lets you write and test your own fraud rules, backed by signals from millions of stores, so a card flagged on one store is known at the next. Shopify says it blocks over 12,000 high-risk payments a minute, per the Fall '26 highlights. 🔁 Subscriptions now work in draft orders. Subscription products from subscription apps can now be added to draft orders, so you can set up a recurring purchase for a customer by hand. Send an invoice and the customer gets a checkout link where they review and pay. Handy for phone orders and wholesale regulars, and the draft order subscription note links to the full help article. 📉 More sales, but more profit? A community thread asks how store owners track real profit as they grow, once ad spend, product costs, shipping, payment fees and refunds are counted. The question is whether merchants have one clear number or still pull figures from several tools. If your revenue is up but the bank balance is not, compare notes in the profit thread. | |

| | 🔐 Shopify Flow now checks staff permissions. Flow now follows the staff permissions in Settings, Users, Roles. To test or turn on a workflow, a staff member needs the admin permission for every step, such as Edit customers for an Add customer tags action. Without it they can still build and save drafts. Workflows already on keep running and owners keep full access. Review the Flow permission change before someone gets stuck. ⚙️ A Product updated trigger for Flow. Flow can now start a workflow when a product or variant changes. You pick up to 5 fields to watch, including tags, metafields and prices, and the workflow runs when one of them changes. Shopify's example is setting a metafield value that depends on other product fields. Try the Product updated trigger for price change alerts or tag cleanup. 🗂️ Map product data for each sales channel. A new channel mapping page shows the product data each sales channel receives and lets you change where each field comes from. You can combine fields, such as adding your brand to listing titles, override values per product per channel, and bulk edit. Each field shows a coverage percentage, so gaps are easy to spot. Open channel mapping to tidy your feeds. 🧩 Variants move onto the product page. As part of the admin refresh, you will manage variants directly on the product detail page instead of switching pages. Edits are faster, and bulk price changes take two clicks instead of five. The product page also groups price, inventory and shipping together. The rollout starts in December 2026, so preview the variant redesign now. | |
