| | Hello there. Shopify put discounts into Rollouts, added three right-to-left languages to the admin and storefronts, and published a peak season fulfillment guide, while one merchant asks what is behind thousands of add to carts an hour. Saturday, so a quiet moment to check your own numbers before Monday. In today’s newsletter, we’ll get into: - Shopify now lets you schedule and test discounts in Rollouts, showing a new offer to part of your online store traffic and comparing conversion before you expand it.
- The admin and storefronts, including checkout and customer accounts, now have improved support for Arabic, Urdu and Hebrew right-to-left layouts.
- A Shopify peak season guide covers batching up to 250 orders at once, scan to verify, UPS return labels for US businesses and delivery photos on orders.

| | 🤖 Thousands of add to carts an hour may be bots or double-fired events. A merchant says their store has seen thousands of add to carts and checkout visits every hour for about a month, after earlier floods of search page hits. Moving the domain to Cloudflare blocked real customers, so they moved it back. Replies suggest comparing checkout sessions with orders, splitting sessions by referrer, country or city, and checking whether an app and a GTM tag both send begin_checkout. The thread is a decent checklist before you blame bots. Some replies also pitch their own apps. 📉 Meta ads sent 18 clicks, but only 3 landing page views were recorded. A store owner launched Meta ads and saw 18 outbound clicks but 3 landing page views, with barely any sessions in Shopify Analytics. Nine clicks came from iPhones and none registered. The product page loads fine in tests, the pixel runs through the official Facebook & Instagram app, and the same thing happened on another store. One reply doubts cookie consent is the cause and points to a banner blocking the pixel or a redirect after the click. | |

| | 📦 Shopify's peak season guide covers batches of 250 orders and delivery photos. A Shopify Staff guide from Oct 1 walks through the fulfillment tools for the busy weeks. You can group up to 250 orders into a batch with one pick list and use scan to verify while picking and packing. US businesses can buy UPS return labels, charged only when the customer ships with them, and supported carriers now show a proof of delivery photo on the order. The guide has setup steps for each. 🍁 A Canadian merchant asks when Merchant Protect will reach Canada. A merchant says Shop Pay feels like a conduit for fraud in Canada because so little card information is shared, and notes the protection program launched in the US years ago. A reply says it has seen no Canada timeline and suggests asking support to log product feedback. Another reply says there is no such thing as Merchant Protect, so the thread settles nothing. Fraud analysis, AVS and CVV checks and manual review of risky orders are the stopgaps mentioned. | |

| | 🕯️ A subscription checkout shows the starter price as the recurring subtotal. A candle seller uses Recharge to offer 10% off a starter candle, then swap to a discounted refill. At checkout the Recurring subtotal shows the discounted starter price, not the later refill price, across more than 20 variants. A reply says a checkout add-on cannot change pricing, and that a selling plan with a second pricing policy can produce wording like first payment X, then Y. Recharge would still need to charge the refill price itself. | |

| | 🏷️ Rollouts can now schedule and test discounts. Shopify added discounts to Rollouts, so you can launch a new offer to a portion of online store traffic and expand when you are ready. You can compare a discount change with your existing offers and review conversion results, or schedule a discount to go live with theme and checkout changes in one rollout. Customer eligibility rules still apply, and start and end dates still work for standalone promotions, says the changelog. 🌐 The admin and storefronts add improved Arabic, Urdu and Hebrew support. Shopify released improved support for three right-to-left languages in the admin and storefronts, including checkout, customer accounts and the Horizon family of themes. Display language follows the user's device settings where available. Product pages and other merchant content stay in the languages you have enabled, and you can enable translations on product pages with the Translate & Adapt app. Add the languages in your admin to get started. | |
