Dates you need in the diary
US return shipping tax lands on 23 October, reported on the 26th. Stocky has a November export deadline. Shopify Editions is on the calendar. If you only act on one thing from this week, make it the return shipping tax.
The bot problem got worse
Two separate stories, same root cause. On the 25th, bot checkouts were shown to be padding Klaviyo bills. On the 27th, bot carts were junking email deliverability: fake carts trigger abandoned-cart emails to addresses that never existed, bounce rates climb, and real customers stop landing in the inbox. Check your addresses before you blame your copy.
Payments and payouts
Shop Pay reached Muse agent checkout on the 24th. Lunar SEK payouts arrived in Sweden on the 27th. Shop Pay Installments and the payouts redesign both drew heat on the 23rd. On the 27th, chargeback evidence when a buyer mistypes their own address.
The admin and the back office
Shopify's redesigned admin ran through the week, with the 25th covering what it actually moves around. Analytics cleaned up shipping and duty profit data on the 24th. B2B free-shipping automatics landed on the 26th. Merchants spent the week rethinking subscription apps and POS Plus, and the BFCM retail checklist appeared on the 25th.
